应用数学青年讨论班(午餐会)-- Liquid Crystal Systems from Complex Geometrical Confinement to Deformable Interfaces

摘要: Nematic liquid crystal systems exhibit highly coupled and nonlinear behaviors arising from the interplay between geometric confinement, orientational order, and defect structures. Within the Landau–de Gennes framework, we investigate the influence of complex confinement, with particular emphasis on corner-induced effects on defect and equilibrium configurations. Building on this, a solution landscape approach is employed to systematically characterize the global organization of critical states, including stable states, unstable states, and their transition pathways, thereby revealing the role of geometry in shaping transition mechanisms between metastable states. When the system is further extended to shape-shifting liquid crystals, a diffuse-interface Landau-de Gennes model is developed, enabling a unified description of the coupled evolution of orientational order, defect structures and interface deformations.

报告人简介：韩雨岑，中国人民大学应用数学研究中心讲师。研究方向为材料问题建模与计算、高阶鞍点解景观的算法和应用。在SIAM J Appl Math、SIAM J Math Anal、J Comput Phys等期刊发表论文20余篇。入选2026年北京市“高创计划”青年人才托举工程、2026年北京市海聚青年人才项目。主持国家自然科学基金青年基金、英国皇家学会牛顿国际奖学金项目等。
